Marana, Arizona – The Marana Food Bank and Community Resource Center celebrated its grand opening on Monday, February 12, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Marana Chamber of Commerce. The New Marana Food Bank, which officially began operations December 4 of last year is located at 11734 W. Grier Road. On this past Monday the facility welcomed over 100 attendees, including elected officials, town leaders, business owners, members of the community, and dedicated volunteers who have been instrumental in bringing the new vision to life.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Marana community, as the Food Bank and Community Resource Center aims to address the growing need for essential services in the area. Mayor Ed Honea, in his address, emphasized the importance of the Food Bank’s longstanding presence in Marana, dating back to the 1950s, and its crucial role in providing support to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
