Marana, Arizona
The team at Local Marana is celebrating an incredible fundraising success for the new Marana Food Bank. During a scheduled Facebook live broadcast on 04/08 the Local Marana hosts were able to encourage their listeners, online community members and viewers to donate over $3,000 to support the Marana Food Bank and the purchase of the box truck.
“We are so lucky that there has been so much publicity about the Box Truck 25k. We keep seeing donations come in specifically towards that and a lot of people spreading the word about our need for the truck! I want to thank everyone who has taken their time to say something to a friend about our fundraiser and those checking in to see where we are and if we’re close to the goal, it means the world to us to have this support!”- Luissel Palma, Senior Program Coordinator
The live broadcast, which aired on April 8th, 2024, featured an in-depth interview with the Senior Program Coordinator, Luissel Palma and Senior Logistics Coordinator Veronica Herrera, who spoke about the organization’s mission and current initiatives. Throughout the show, the Local Marana team encouraged listeners and viewers to donate, providing information on how to contribute via the food bank’s website.
For those who missed the live broadcast, the episode is still available on Facebook. Local Marana has been broadcasting live every Tuesday, and will soon be expanding to include special Thursday episodes for subscribers on Facebook. Local Marana also plans to expand into the Tune In App this fall.
“Our goal is to continue being a voice for the Marana community, and to use our platform to uplift local organizations and causes. We’re excited to keep growing and finding new ways to make a positive impact.” said Local Marana Chief Operations Officer Scott Robb.
