MARANA, AZ – On March 16, 2024, the town of Marana will host its annual Founders’ Day Parade & Festivities to mark the 47th anniversary of the town’s official incorporation. Festivities kick off at 10:00am with the “Biggest Little Parade in Arizona” along Marana Main Street and W Civic Center Drive.
The parade and accompanying festivities offer visitors and residents a chance to celebrate Marana’s history and founding in 1977. Just 47 years ago, a group of local farmers took the bold step to incorporate Marana, establishing the governance and foundation for what is now one of Arizona’s fastest growing communities.
This year’s Founders’ Day event promises fun for all ages, including food trucks, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and children’s activities. The highlight will be the annual parade, featuring colorful floats, marching bands, dancers, classic cars, and more making their way along the parade route.
Parade-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and arrive early to secure a good spot, as prime viewing areas fill up fast. Note that the main intersections into the Civic Center complex will close at 9:45am in preparation for the events.
Town leaders hope Marana residents will turn out to support Founders’ Day and take pride in just how far Marana has come in 47 short years. The family-friendly event offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate Marana’s past, present, and future.
