Marana, Arizona
What skills and experience do high school graduates need to succeed in Marana’s business climate?
It’s a question you may get to answer if you’re a business owner or industry leader in Marana. In a recent interview on the Conversations with Ed Honea podcast, Marana Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Streeter announced that a new personalized learning academy for high school students will open in the fall of 2025. The innovative school will primarily offer career and technical education programs. The vision for the school is to provide classes that students want in conjunction with the courses that will help graduates fulfill the demands of Marana’s workforce.
The school will be available for permanent students and high school students attending Mountain View High School and Marana High School for CTE programs. Approximately 400 students will attend the school housed in the former urgent care facility located at Silverbell and Continental Reserve.

The State of Arizona granted MUSD 12 million dollars to renovate the old urgent care facility into a new high school. Marana is pioneering the movement of using state funds to repurpose old businesses into public schools, which may be the start of a trend in Arizona education!
In addition to the new high school, Marana will also open a K-8 School located in the Gladden Two area in the fall of 2025. Marana residents passed a school improvement bond, which will fund the construction of the new school. MUSD leaders will model the new school after Dove Mountain C-STEM K-8 and Twin Peaks K-8.
To achieve the growing demands of a booming Marana, leaders from the Town of Marana and MUSD will continue to work in tandem to address the needs of students, parents, and the community.
