Marana Honors Late Mayor Ed Honea by Naming Municipal Complex in His Memory

Marana, Arizona- The Marana Municipal Complex will be named after the late Mayor of Marana Ed Honea.

Honea, a third-generation member of a five-generation family, served the city of Marana for 37 years. He was on the town council for three terms and has been mayor since 2005 after serving from 1995-1997.

Honea was a part of many boards and organizations. He was a member and 2014 Chair of the Pima Association of Governments and was a member and chair of the Regional Transportation Authority. 

Almost everything regarding the city of Marana Honea has had a say in it. He has offered his leadership by being a member of:

  • Arizona League of Cities and Towns 
  • Arizona Town Hall
  • Central Arizona Associations of Government
  • Arizona Association of Economic Development
  • Marana Optimist Club
  • Marana Chamber of Commerce

Honea played a prominent role in establishing the Marana Food Bank and advocated for the new Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center. Honea was also a huge part of Live the Dream Media where he has talked several times on its Local Marana podcast.
