The sun cast its warm rays over the Town of Marana this morning painting a picture of hope and progress. It was a momentous occasion as the community gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the highly anticipated Marana Community and Aquatic Center. This new facility promises to be a beacon of health, recreation, and community unity for the residents of Marana and beyond.

While presenting, Marana Parks & Recreation Deputy Director Wayne Barnett reflected and stated, “A child is going to make their first basket in a basketball match here, A person is going to have their first job here”.

The Marana Community and Aquatic Center is set to become a cornerstone of the town, offering a wide range of amenities designed to cater to diverse interests and ages. Marana Town Councilwoman Patti Comerford spoke with us and said “It really is a dream come true. This has been a goal of the community for a long time however timing has everything to do with it”

The facility is expected to be complete in 2025.
