A new community poll shows broad satisfaction across public safety, parks, infrastructure, and fiscal value — with public safety earning the highest marks of any measure.
A new independent survey of Marana residents paints a picture of a community largely satisfied with its leadership and quality of life, with strong majorities expressing confidence across every major measure of town governance.
The poll, conducted by NextGenP in April 2026, surveyed nearly 800 Marana residents.
When asked whether Marana is heading in the right direction or the wrong direction, 63% of residents said right direction, compared to 31% who said wrong direction and 6% who had no opinion.
Town Direction
Of those who said right direction, 28 percentage points said “definitely” indicating a significant portion hold that view with strong conviction. The survey notes that municipal right direction ratings in the mid-40s are typically considered healthy, and ratings in the 50s are considered strong, making Marana’s 63% notably high by comparison.
Public Safety
Public safety earned the highest satisfaction score of any measure in the survey. 87% of residents said they are satisfied with public safety in Marana, with only 8% expressing dissatisfaction and 4% offering no opinion.
Notably, 54% of all respondents, more than half selected “very satisfied,” the strongest possible rating. That makes public safety not only the top-rated category overall, but also the one with the greatest intensity of positive sentiment.
Value for Taxes and Fees
65% of residents said they are satisfied with the value they receive for the taxes and fees they pay to the town, while 26% said they are dissatisfied and 8% had no opinion.
The largest single response category was “somewhat satisfied” at 45%, suggesting a pragmatic electorate that gives measured credit for town fiscal management. Only 9% selected “very unsatisfied.”
Roads and Infrastructure
Roads and infrastructure produced the most mixed results of any category in the survey. 60% of residents said they are satisfied with Marana’s roads and infrastructure, while 38% expressed dissatisfaction — the highest dissatisfaction rate of any measure in the poll.
Among dissatisfied residents, 25% selected “somewhat unsatisfied” and 13% selected “very unsatisfied.” The survey frames this as a common challenge for fast-growing communities in the Southwest, where population growth can outpace infrastructure investment, and suggests it represents an area where continued investment could yield further improvements in resident sentiment.
Parks, Recreation, and Open Space
79% of residents said they are satisfied with the town’s recreational amenities, including parks, recreation centers, nature preserves, and trails — the second-highest score in the survey after public safety. Only 13% expressed dissatisfaction, the second-lowest rate of any measure.
As with public safety, satisfaction was intense: 41% of all residents selected “very satisfied,” tied for the strongest intensity score in the survey.
